It’s been a dear wish of mine to create a mastermind class. I wondered whether you had any advice on how to set one up, get one off the ground and how to attract people.

Heather’s Answer:

Here’s what I really learned about creating the space for a mastermind and having that be a powerful process – especially if it’s your first mastermind, whether it’s virtual over the phone or it’s in person. It’s really important that the mastermind is a part of a bigger process or program. I found that when you try to advertise a mastermind as ‘We’re going to come together and that’s all we’re going to do…’ – that is a harder type of program to get off the ground.

What helps is when you have a solid structure that the mastermind falls within. For example, we have the past model of the EnergyRICH® Business Boot Camp which was a 12-week curriculum that included the mastermind program, so we had a structure with which to mastermind around as well as for my Elite Mastermind group, which includes in-person mastermind meetings; we have a structure and a 12-month process that we travel through together – where guest experts and I lead topic calls.

It gives a structure and a format, so that (1) there’s something to be masterminding around, and (2), it’s easier for members’ minds to grasp onto what it is that we’re going to be doing together. When you try to just offer only the idea of masterminding, unless it’s a group of people who knew each other previously, I’ve found it to be difficult because it’s a bit too nebulous for people. They like the idea but they don’t really get it, they don’t know what they’re investing in. They feel like ‘What are we going to be doing exactly?’ And there tends to be, without the frame, more of a loosey-goosey commitment on members’ parts.

"Experiencing Paris in NYC!"

One of the cool things about living in NYC is that you can BE anywhere in the world just a subway ride away. You can go to Little Italy, Chinatown or even … PARIS! The Paris Move Theatre is an old-style movie house located across from The Plaza Hotel that has velvet seats, carpeted floors and a curtain that pulls back to reveal the movie screen just before the movie is about to begin. Your prospect process should be…

• An easy-to-follow formula that is designed to help your client make a choice about how to best work with you.
• A process that guides them to make a commitment to you, your service or product because they feel called to do so.
• And because what you have to offer is going to help them feel the way that they want to feel.

Crafting YOUR go-to Prospects Process begins first on the inside then onto activating your outer step-by-step formula for soul-filled selling success.

Step 1) Identify Your Selling Beliefs

Start by identifying the Energy POOR beliefs you have activated about yourself, and your ability to help people make a commitment to purchase your product or service.

• Take an honest look at the part of your soul-filled selling conversation where you are seeking to “gain the commitment”.
• List out any low-level energies, thoughts or feelings that are activated when you think about asking your prospect for a commitment.

If you find yourself thinking thoughts like, “Oh, I just can’t talk to people about my service” or “I just start to sweat when it comes to that moment when someone will say whether they are ready to work with me or not” then:

First: You must really be willing to look at these thoughts
Second: You must BE energetically responsible for what is coming up
Finally (and most importantly): You must be willing to change your story

EnergyRICH® Hint: Not having a match between your inner and outer elements of gaining the commitment will have you staying stuck in feeling insecure about generating money, and your ability to be successful in your business for the long term.

Step 2) Evaluate your current outer Prospect Process

Then, at an outer level You need to evaluate your current selling process:

You need to take an honest look at the place in your current prospect process that is not quite right when it comes to guiding people to make a commitment to you and your service.

Many entrepreneurs never even go through this evaluation process, because you are afraid of what you will discover. You may be scared to learn and accept responsibility for the false but powerful story you have been telling yourself! Stories include:

• I am so bad at this.
• No one really wants my services.
• I’ll never succeed at this.
• I don’t know what to do.
• I can’t make money doing this.

But you must understand by now that you have to be clear about where you are FIRST and what is currently being activated, so that you can shift into creating more of what you want for yourself- specifically a Prospect Process that feels great, works for you, and is extremely effective!

1. Evaluate your current Prospect Process.
Ask yourself:

-> What percentage of the time do people make a commitment to you?

-> What has worked in the past?

-> What do you sense needs to be changed or refined in your process to create better results, and why?

Question:

I’m just getting started with my business; I actually have not finished my massage therapy training yet and I want to know, do I need to wait until I’m finished with my certification or can I start marketing to clients? My big concern is that I don’t want to start marketing if I don’t know what I’m going to be offering.

That is a great, great question. I don’t know the specifics in terms of the state you are practicing massage therapy in, so I would say probably no, you cannot begin to serve clients without that certification. However, you can absolutely begin to set up your business-building systems and begin your marketing and I would highly recommend that. It’s the best thing you can do. It would be a real mistake to wait until that certification is in hand; begin the process of opening up the door now, and then once that certification’s in place, there’s going to be a full flow in without that awkward limbo time of needing to wait to generate income.

So let’s just dive right into an area that most business coaches don’t go near that is crucial to address if you are serious about having a successful business: fear and doubt. These lower-level energies are valid and completely understandable. As an entrepreneur you’ve chosen to really stand on your own two feet, which is very different from working for someone else. You are a renegade.

Your objective isn’t to get rid of fear and doubt.

It’s simply about how to manage them when they appear, because prospects smell fear and doubt from a mile away.

EnergyRICH® Hint: You can’t fool energy. So you want to do whatever needs to be done to be 110% present to those you serve, and also for yourself.

Pre-Step: Consistently managing your energy will bring a HUGE amount of relief and release.

This is the beginning of shifting from the belief that because you feel “bad” about something, it must be terrible, to accepting and knowing that it’s instead a GREAT sign that something big, beautiful and bountiful is about to be born.

This acceptance moves you forward so much more quickly.

So, you will never have a “bad” day again! Great news right… So, how do you do this?

Phase 1: Acknowledge where you are starting from

The key is to initially take baby steps energetically by first acknowledging and becoming more aware of where you are.

It’s okay to acknowledge the thoughts, feelings, and familiar patterns that are showing up, and, then, start focusing on how you want to feel– not on what you are going to DO… but on how you want to FEEL.

If you are in a state of overwhelm you can’t expect to get to joy immediately. You don’t have energetic access to it, simple as that. And rather than beating yourself up for not having access to it, you start where you are. Then you can move one step at a time to the next place you have energetic access to. From there, actions that feel just a little better will become clearer.

You don’t NEED to make big shifts from a place of conflict, just small shifts. The belief that it must be a big shift or no shift will keep you stuck and struggling.

Phase 2: Take Baby Steps: Small shifts can open BIG doors

Know that this is a process to help you gain greater clarity so you can quantum leap to the next level.

New doors will open, even in your current situation. Doors that couldn’t be forced open, no matter how much you “tried to make it happen”.

EnergyRICH® Hint: Your ego-mind may try to take you out of the game and want to tell you to jump over these steps.

A part of you will be impatient and think, “How will this help me get what I want (more clients, more money) NOW?”

But I assure you that you will more easily attract what you want by exploring this energy pattern:

= > Where are you right now …

= > How do you feel right now …

= > What is currently manifesting …

= > THEN where do you want to go from where you are …

= > And THEN pre-pave how you WANT to feel about your ideal business as you now move forward from where you are …

1. Find someone that you can speak to about your entrepreneurial doubts and fears. Be very conscious about whom you choose. Often someone who doesn’t have their own business cannot completely relate—even if they are one of your closest companions. Ask for support. Ask for accountability.

Do this AS MUCH AS you need to.

2. Be patient with yourself, and keep up the attentiveness. Accept that this road will become smoother, but it will be constant. As an EnergyRICH® entrepreneur you are on a constant road of growth and expansion. Better to embrace all that comes with that. The result is extremely powerful.

3. When conflict arises, turn to your tools and ask these questions:

= > Where are you right now …

= > How do you feel right now …

= > What is currently manifesting …

= > THEN where do you want to go from where you are …

= > And THEN pre-pave how you WANT to feel about your ideal business as you now move forward from where you are …

I’m ready to start offering audio packages to my community. Do you use an automated system where somebody can click on what they would like to purchase and then that system automatically sends that to their email or do you have someone personally sending them out?

Heather’s Answer:

We love using technology to support our programs and often use an automated system for delivering our audio products. What you’re really talking about is using an auto-responder to deliver the product. And, there are lots of different levels of this type of tool that you can put in place for your business.

There are some programs, even like Constant Contact – which is a very foundational tool to use as an email broadcast system – that comes with a certain number of auto-responders that you can set up. And Constant Contact is pretty intuitive and easy to follow; if you want to set up something like registration for an event or when someone opts into your community, when someone wants to register for the event, they will automatically receive an email in return that allows them to access that call, download that information or give them that free report. There’s another program called Little Deb, and then you can graduate into such programs as 1ShoppingCart, but you don’t need the big guns to start off having an auto-responder. You can just begin with an investment and program that matches where your business is at.

What an amazing week of celebration it’s been here at EnergyRICH® Coaching HQ! On Monday I kicked off my new Elite Master Mind 4 program with a POWERFUL New Year Planning Day Meeting where we celebrated everything that was accomplished in 2011, set goals for 2012, magnetized those goals and then dove into the nitty-gritty of two of the most important outer systems you must have in place to bring about the big goals these Elites have set for themselves.

I surprised returning members Joanna Lindenbaum and Ginger Burr with EnergyRICH® Awards to celebrate the important income markers they each crossed (as you can see in the above photo). Both of spoke about the importance of the inner shifts they have made through our coaching together that supported them in being able to cross these marks that they each, at one point, did not see as possible. They also acknowledged that they are not the same entrepreneurs that they were even a year ago. Now, it isn’t the income that has changed them – let’s be very clear about this. It is because of the JOURNEY they had to take (and are continuing to take) and who they had to BE in order to meet these goals. So very proud of both of them!

Now, I am sure you can understand that I, personally, know this journey well. I continue to be amazed at the transformations I experience as I step UP and IN to each new and next level I go to in my business. If there is one thing I have come to know to the core of my core through my entrepreneurial journey, it’s not the outer systems that bring you to success; it’s who you choose to BE and who you BEcome each step of the way. The systems are super important (of course!) but they are the container that holds the energy of transformation and allows it to continue to grow and expand. They aren’t the THING that creates the success transformation. Feel the difference?

First Step: Awareness

Your uniqueness is what allows you to stand out from the crowd separating you and your business from those others that are doing similar work to yourself. There is no need to activate the energy of competition once you truly tap into your uniqueness.

No one else can be you.

This awareness then can shift you from a place of telling (this is what I do and how I do it) to a place of BEing. It allows just being who you are to be activated as your main business growth tool, instead of feeling that you have to sell yourself.

You no longer find yourself trying to find the right words to describe who you are and what you do (whether speaking, writing or otherwise communicating about your business.)

Most important, clients are clear and feel confident about the experience they are going to have with you.

EnergyRICH® Hint: A confused mind never buys.

Second Step: Claim Your “Success Story”

You have a success story that no one else has. Your success story is all about you and your experiences. Remember there isn’t anything that you’ve gone through that can’t be used to increase client attraction. Who you are and what you’ve experienced is YOUR success.

Your success story will allow you to activate:

=> A Powerful Connection. The very first “C” in the EnergyRICH® 4 C’s of Marketing. People aren’t buying a “business.” They’re buying a relationship with someone they feel they can trust, first, and then they are buying a solution, second.

=> A Powerful Communication. The second “C” in the EnergyRICH® 4 C’s of Marketing. This is the most direct way to communicate with your ideal client that 1) you understand where they are and 2) you know it can be different because

you’ve done it. This is more powerful than any “degree” or “certification” you could have by your name.

Your uniqueness is VERY Client Attractive.

1- Make a list of everything that your business gives to those that you serve. What do you notice? What stands out?

2- Make a list of WHY people would want this. What are they looking for when they obtain your service?

3- Interview a buddy, friend, colleague… Share with them your list of gifts. Ask them what their sense is as to why someone would want what you offer. Next, ask them how they would FEEL if they had what you offer.

4- When you identify what makes you unique, you get very clear about the question: “What do I bring to the table?”

5 – Are you ready develop your own UNIQUE system, program, or step-by-step process that gives you energetic language to speak about who you are, and helps you appreciate yourself and what you offer, but don’t know “the HOW?” There. Is. Always. A. Way.
